Waiting for spring.

Did you ever look up in a tree and see a large clump of
leaves and wonder what it was. It's a Gray squirrels' nest-
also known as a drey.

Squirrel's nests are built fairly high in the forks of trees
and are made mainly of dry leaves and twigs. They are
about the size of a football.

If a squirrel's nest becomes infested with fleas or other
parasites, it will move to, or build another nest. That is
why there may be more nests than squirrels in a
given area. Despite their outward appearance, the leaf
nests are quite sturdy.
