Winter Birds of Tifft Nature Preserve

I have been taking a lot of pictures of the birds at Tifft,
and here are some of them:

Downy Woodpecker:

I also saw a ton of Robins everywhere!
Here's one perched in a tree:

Some of the prettiest shots I took were of the cardinals,
just as it started to snow:

Here's a male Cardinal (all red) & a House Finch flying
in behind him to perch on the feeder.

And of course, the Mallard ducks are still pretty active
right now. Here's a male Mallard Duck (he has bright
green feathers to attract the females):

And a female, whose feathers allow her to blend in with
her surroundings in order to provide more protection
when she's guarding her eggs:

And last, a squirrel trying to pretend he's just another
one of the birds in the bird feeder:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
